Fencer Baldini fails drugs test

World number one foil fencer Andrea Baldini has failed a doping test and will miss the Beijing Olympics.
The Italian Olympic Committee revealed on Friday that Baldini tested positive for a banned diuretic at the European Championships in Kiev last month.
The 22-year-old had been one of Italy's top fencing medal hopes for the Olympics and was tipped for the gold.
But he will be replaced in the Italian fencing squad by Andrea Cassara, says the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.
